Whitefish Township Park Ordinance
An ordinance to provide for the use, protection, regulation and control of the public parks and park facilities and other matters concerning recreation, scenic areas and preserves in Whitefish Township, Chippewa County, Michigan.
The TOWNSHIP OF WHITEFISH, CHIPPEWA COUNTY, MICHIGAN ORDAINS:
Section 1: Title
This ordinance may be known and referred to as the Whitefish Township Park
Section 2: Purpose
The purpose of this ordinance is to regulate the use of public parks.
Section 3: Camping
No overnight camping shall be permitted in township parks.
Section 4: Signs
No private advertising or other private signs shall be permitted.
Section 5: Posted Township Signs
Official Township signage shall be observed and complied with.
Section 6: Unlawful Acts
The following act or acts shall be unlawful:
A. To destroy, damage or remove any tree, shrub, flower, plant, bush or to destroy, damage, deface or remove any township property or park improvements.
B. To remain in said park areas between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. unless written permission is secured from the township supervisor.
C. To use loud speaker, public address system unless written permission is secured from the township supervisor.
D. To build open fires unless written permission is secured from the township supervisor.
E. To deposit garbage, refuse or trash originating outside parks in park receptacles or to deposit garbage, refuse or trash except in designated receptacles.
F. To operate any motor vehicles except upon approved roads or drives.
H. To park except in designated parking areas.
I. To permit animals off leash or to ride or walk horses in said parks.
J. To discharge any fire arm or explosive.
Section 7: Penalties:
Any violation of this ordinance shall be a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not to exceed $100.00 or 90 days in the county jail or both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 8: Severability
The provisions of the within ordinance are hereby declared to be severable and should any provision, section or part thereof be declared invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall only affect the particular provision, section or part thereof involved in such decision and shall not affect or invalidate the remainder of such ordinance which shall continue in full force and effect.
